Ongoing project: “AB Lietkabelis R&D Investments in Environmentally Friendly Technologies.”

“Lietkabelis” AB, together with its partner Panevėžio kolegija/State Higher Education Institution, is implementing the project “AB LIETKABELIS R&D Investments in Environmentally Friendly Technologies” No. 02-039-K-0024 under the 2022–2030 Development Programme of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, within the Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Programme, progress measure No. 05-001-01-04-02 “Promote the transition of companies toward a climate-neutral economy,” activity “Create conditions for the sustainable transformation of SMEs,” sub-activity “Promote the development and demonstration of innovative environmentally friendly (i.e., sustainable) technologies that encourage the production of sustainable products in industrial SMEs (Central and Western Lithuania region).”

The goal of this project is – upon successful completion of R&D activities—to create a globally innovative, sustainable, and environmentally friendly product: a technology for the secondary use and application of PVC plastic in cable manufacturing, which will be used to produce PVC cable sheathing by using recycled materials.

The project will make a significant contribution to addressing climate change by creating sustainable solutions and products, and will support programmes aimed at climate neutrality.

Project implementation period: from 2024-10-01 to 2027-04-01.

PROJECT BUDGET: EUR 788,779.

EU FUNDING: EUR 500,000. Co-funded by the European Union.
