Erasmus+ visit to Istanbul Nişantaşı University

2025-12-15

Edita Kriukaitė, Consultant at the Study, Career and Employment Centre, and Viktorija Vidžiūnienė, Marketing Project Manager at the International Relations, Marketing and Projects Department and Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, visited Istanbul Nişantaşı University under the Erasmus+ programme.

The university, located in Istanbul, has six faculties and offers a wide range of study programmes, from bachelor’s to doctoral studies. The college representatives were impressed by the active student club activities and the projects implemented by students, including the development of a mini electric car and an air transport vehicle resembling a large drone.

Colleagues in Turkey noted that the most popular field of study is information technology—the Faculty of IT has the largest number of students. The university, which has more than 40,000 students, including around 2,000 international students, serves as an excellent example of how different nationalities and cultures can successfully coexist and collaborate within one higher education institution.

Such international academic visits are especially valuable as they provide opportunities to share good practices, become acquainted with different models of study organisation, student engagement and practical training, establish new interinstitutional links, and strengthen existing cooperation. The insights gained contribute to improving the quality of studies, implementing innovative solutions, and generating new ideas on how to prepare students even more effectively for the modern labour market.
