International Experience and Innovative Teaching Methods at the Faculty of Social Sciences
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Panevėžio kolegija/State Higher Education Institution has once again invited students from higher education institutions in Daugavpils, Rēzekne, and Konin to participate in the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Developing Social and Emotional Skills.” This program provides students with the opportunity to gain international experience by combining virtual and physical mobility. It was worth 3 ECTS credits and focused on the field of early childhood and preschool education. Participants deepened their knowledge of social and emotional skills development in early childhood, explored the application of preventive programs, the importance of emotional maturity, and innovative teaching methods. Virtual activities, such as a lecture on intercultural communication, helped participants better understand the characteristics of different cultures, while physical mobility included practical activities, study visits to kindergartens (“Vaivorykštė,” “Dobilas,” “Liepaitė”), educational sessions, and meetings with specialists. In addition to academic knowledge, the program fostered collaboration within international teams and strengthened communication, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
Participants also explored the city of Panevėžys, its culture, and education system, expanded their professional networks, and gained valuable practical experience essential for future educators.
