Students Strengthened Their Leadership and Management Competencies

What makes an effective leader? Which values and qualities are essential for today’s managers? These were among the questions explored by students at Panevėžio Kolegija/State Higher Education Institution during a visit from Dr Hasan Yilmaz, an expert in human resources and leadership from Inönü University, Türkiye.

Dr Yilmaz delivered a series of lectures on human resource management and leadership, giving students from the Business Management and International Business programmes the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and gain an international perspective on the role of a modern manager.

Through discussions and practical examples, students explored different approaches to leadership and considered the qualities, values and skills needed to lead effectively in today’s rapidly changing working environment. The sessions also encouraged students to reflect on their own strengths and potential as future leaders.

The visit also created opportunities for academic and research collaboration. During a meeting with representatives of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr Yilmaz discussed the possibility of conducting a comparative study on youth entrepreneurship. At the Applied Research and Innovation Centre, he shared insights and good practice from research and development activities in Türkiye, as well as discussing potential areas for future cooperation.

International visits such as this provide valuable opportunities for students and academic staff to exchange knowledge, explore new perspectives and build connections with colleagues from other countries.
