Students Explore Channel Coding for Wireless Communication
Students at Panevėžio kolegija/State Higher Education Institution had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and develop competencies essential for the next generation of engineers and IT specialists.
Panevėžio kolegija/State Higher Education Institution welcomed prof. Andreas Ahrens, PhD, an expert in channel coding from Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Germany. During his visit, Professor Ahrens delivered a series of lectures on channel coding for wireless communication. Students from the Faculty of Technology, specialising in Electronic Engineering and Robotics as well as Information Engineering, deepened their understanding of channel coding for wireless communication using Python.
The lectures provided students with an opportunity to gain international experience, learn more about channel coding and wireless communication, and strengthen their programming skills. The sessions focused on techniques for ensuring reliable data transmission while minimising transmitter power consumption.
During a meeting with representatives of the Faculty of Technology, prof. Ahrens shared his professional expertise, insights into global trends, and international best practices in research. Opportunities for future collaboration on joint projects were also discussed.
The visit of the guest lecturer was funded by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation of Lithuania.
