Applied Research and Innovation Centre

The Applied Research and Innovation Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Centre) is a structural unit of Panevėžio kolegija/state higher institution that carries out applied scientific research and experimental development activities. The Centre’s activities are oriented towards the needs of regional and national economic sectors, with the aim of developing scientifically grounded solutions and implementing innovations. In cooperation with the Panevėžio kolegija/state higher institution research groups, the Centre conducts interdisciplinary research in various industrial fields and addresses complex challenges—from materials science and the improvement of manufacturing technologies to process digitalisation, automation, and precision engineering measurements.
The Centre also initiates and implements joint projects with social partners, ensures the integration of researchers and students into applied scientific activities, and contributes to the development of the regional

Main functions of the Centre

Integration of science, studies, and innovation – ensuring the unity of research and studies, carrying out applied research, participating in innovation activities, and cooperating with businesses, institutions, and researchers.
Ensuring the operation of laboratories and facilities – providing conditions for applied scientific and experimental activities, study placements, and practical training to take place in the Centre’s laboratories and facilities.
Management of technical infrastructure – ensuring the efficient use, operation, maintenance, upgrading, and regular technical servicing of the Centre’s technical equipment.
Coordination of R&D activities – initiating, implementing, and coordinating applied scientific research and experimental development together with the Panevėžio kolegija/state higher institution R&D groups and units.
Support for the academic community– providing methodological and expert assistance to lecturers in carrying out applied scientific research and related studies.
Organisation of educational outreach activities – cooperating in the coordination of events for school pupils and students, participating in non-formal education programmes for children and adults, and ensuring the necessary laboratory infrastructure.
Project-based and international activities – participating in national and international research programmes and projects in line with the Panevėžio kolegija/state higher institution research priority areas.
Strengthening quality and communication – contributing to the improvement of the Panevėžio kolegija/state higher institution quality management system and informing the academic community and the public about the Centre’s activities and achieved results.
