| 1. | Professional Oral Hygiene | 9 | The purpose of the subject is to provide the knowledge about professional oral hygiene aids and performance techniques. The objective of the course – to familiarize students with the concept, the aim and the goals of professional oral hygiene, the role of an oral hygienist, to provide knowledge about procedures of professional oral hygiene, their application and technical performance. Students learn to perform a patient’s examination, to collect anamnesis, to diagnose a disease, to make oral care plan, to apply instruments and aids for eliminating of hard and soft calculus, learn the principles of non-surgical treatment and prophylaxis of periodontal diseases. |
| 2. | Communication and Health Psychology | 3 | To introduce students to the characteristics of the human psyche, the principles underlying cognitive and behavioral processes, and psychological changes in individuals affected by illness. |
| 3. | Pediatric Dentistry and Noncariotic Dental Damages | 3 | To provide the skills in pediatric dental care necessary for the work of an oral hygienist and to introduce students to non-carious dental diseases. |

The subject course includes most common neonates, infants and older children diseases, nursing principles, examination. |

Teach students to assess adverse drug reactions based on changes occurring in the human body. |
| 2. | Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology | 6 | The purpose of the subject is to teach to identify and assess anatomical, physiological and psychological pathology level of various age people. Students analyze body shapes, structures, their development and functional importance, standards and irregularities of human body’s physiological functions. Such analysis of the human body provides students with the versatile knowledge about human being, allows understanding of the influence of external and internal factors on body’s shape alteration, and explains the causative link between environment and organism and between organs and their functions. |
